Surround Yourself with Photographs Inspired by the Beauty of Everyday Moments .

Sweethaven Gallery is a collection of landscape photographs of Newburyport, Plum Island, and beyond. I create pieces that are meant to feel familiar, personal and calm, photographs that bring a connection to nature into your everyday space.

Whether it’s a distant horizon or the pattern of trees in the snow, these photographs are inspired by the quiet details that are easy to pass by. My hope is that they invite you to slow down, look a little closer, and feel the calm.

THE PROCESS

Bringing an idea to life begins long before the first Photograph is made.

Inspiration can strike in the smallest of moments—sunlight streaming across fall foliage, a lone sailboat at sunset, or a path in the dunes disappearing into the fog. For me, the process is one of observation and patience, waiting for the right alignment of light, emotion, and space.

Every composition is a deliberate act, balancing form and feeling. These images become more than visual—they become experiences that resonate deeply, offering viewers a chance to pause, feel, and rediscover the beauty hidden in the everyday.

MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER

GREG NIKAS

As a professional commercial and landscape photographer, photography has been the driving force in my life. From the moment I made my first photograph as a junior in high school in Ipswich, MA, I fell in love with the power of the photographic image to capture the beauty of the world around us.

My love of the landscape is deeply personal and what feeds my creative soul. It is the reason why the majority of my work is in color, because it tells the story of how I see this magnificent world we live in and how I respond to it emotionally.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have traveled extensively as a commercial photographer, while also pursuing my passion for capturing the natural beauty of the landscape along the way.

If you're like me, photography is about more than just capturing beautiful images. It is about telling stories, conveying emotions, and inviting the viewer to connect with the world around them on a deeper level. Whether I’m working on a personal project or a commercial assignment, my goal is always to create images that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant.

"Ultimately, my work as a photographer is not just a job, but a calling. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to live my life doing what I truly feel I was meant to do, capturing the beauty of the natural world and sharing it with others through the power of photography."
